A painting depicting a square-like composition. (Is that a crown?) Some might say that still lifes are boring, as they only depict items on a table or in a normal home-like setting, but I disagree. One of the fascinating aspects of still lifes is the underlying story the artist is trying to convey. Why are these specific items chosen? Why are they displayed in this particular manner? If these items belong to the artist's household, what might their life look like? Acrylics on canvas. Created last year during a lesson from @nicoline 's drawing course!
So I recently turned 27 when I made this, and that had me feeling a bit existential. My dear friend @pj told me to put my thoughts on paper, or to draw about it; so here's the result of that! The painting depicts a colossal amalgamation of meat, bone, and sinew converging with a towering wall. Who or what that being is or once was, we will never know. Its influence in life turned out impermanent.
This piece was dreamt up during one of @nicoline's amazing art lessons. It started as a physical piece, using acrylics (second pic), but then shifted to a digital canvas, transforming it into what it is today. Sleep tight, the tower beckons.
